I started writing poems and stories when I was about 10-years-old. I've always had an active imagination and enjoyed storytelling. I would make up scenarios like any other child when playing with their toys and friends but it evolved into me wanting to record those scenarios, characters and their lives. So I picked up a pencil and a noteb
I started writing poems and stories when I was about 10-years-old. I've always had an active imagination and enjoyed storytelling. I would make up scenarios like any other child when playing with their toys and friends but it evolved into me wanting to record those scenarios, characters and their lives. So I picked up a pencil and a notebook and began my writing journey without realizing that was the journey I was on.

As cliche as it may sound, my inspiration for writing usually comes from real life. Sometimes ideas pop in my head when I'm washing dishes or walking in the park and pass someone. I may come up with a story of what their life is like. Inspiration can come through songs, a conversation I had or my own personal experience.

For so long I wrote only for myself but then I took a leap of faith and decided that I wanted to publish my novels.
After deciding on self-publishing instead of mainstream publishing, I self-published my first novel (How to Love, as Latrice H.) in dedication to my late brother on his birthday, April 14th 2020, which can currently be found

After deciding on self-publishing instead of mainstream publishing, I self-published my first novel (How to Love, as Latrice H.) in dedication to my late brother on his birthday, April 14th 2020, which can currently be found exclusively on Amazon.
Since then, I have been perfecting my craft to bring more of my creations and characters to print.
